#4 Screencasting with Snagit

I choose Snagit to screen cast a lesson that is similar to one I've done with grades 4 and 5. Using a screen cast like the one below would allow me to have more direct contact time with students and helping them trouble shoot along the way. It's like having two of me in the room for a period of time so that I can maximize my ability to help one on one.

I could see using this method to demonstrate a variety of procedural steps in a lesson. I imagine using it to demonstrate a drawing lesson and so many other technology based art projects.

Snagit was easy to use and didn't involve using Java which my home apple had issues with. I guess Java and Apple don't play nicely together.

If I were create screen casts on my school PC I think I would choose Screenr based on the simple directions and easy to follow tools.

  1. What a neat website! I'm going to have to make my own Mr. Picasso Head. You did a nice job explaining the steps for creating a portrait, and I'm glad you found a tool that works well with Macs. Let me know when students are making portraits in art - I'd like them to make avatars in tech class!
